Steve and I are committed outdoor enthusiasts. For nearly 30 years we have worked in the outdoor industry. As qualified teachers we have jointly run Environmental and Outdoor Centres in the UK and moved to Hanmer Springs in 2003 to run Activity Hanmer.
We love tramping and are busy ticking off all the back country walks and huts. What a wonderful country we live in !!

Steve acts as technical director and has had a wealth of experience teaching and instructing at a variety of centres. Prior to emigrating he worked for the Prince's Trust in South West Wales designing programmes for disadvantaged youth and Instructor Training Schemes.
I am the administration manager and deal with school liaison and marketing. I also ran my own small tourism business in Wales and spent many years instructing and teaching.

We are passionate about environmental sustainability and have set up lots of green initiatives in the business. We are involved with the local community through the Hanmer Heritage Forest Trust Committee, the Business Association and through setting up a local Weedbusters group.

We have a great team of instructional staff working with us and pride ourselves in providing a supportive structure for staff development.

We were thrilled to be nominated in the  North Canterbury Business Awards in the Exceptional Service Category.
